This is a lubricant (usually a lubricating detergent or a shampoo) that is sprayed directly on the brushes to help prevent dragging and scratching on the car’s finish, as well as wear of brushes. There are two main purposes of lubricating detergent – the first is to supply lubrication to wash material, and the second is to assist in keeping the wash material clean.
